Rod Models
Little Bushkill 6'3" 4 wt:
My version of the Paul Young Midge taper. Designed for small Brookie streams, but with enough muscle to tackle larger fish in big rivers.
Highlander 7' 4 wt:
This rod is a blend of a Payne 98 and a 7' Granger. Easy casting for delicate presentations.
Sobers Run 7' 4 wt:
This is a popular Granger taper. Fast and accurate; a great small stream rod.
Angela Rose 7' 5 wt:
The Angela Rose is a 5 wt. version of the Sobers Run. Very versatile for all your small stream needs, from tiny dry flies to small streamers.
Kingfisher 7' 6" 4 wt:
This is the famous Paul Young Perfectionish taper. An exceptionally smooth rod that is easy to master.
Bushkill 7' 6 " 5 wt:
This rod is a slightly lightened and modified Paul Young Martha Marie taper. This is as close as you can get to the do everything trout rod. Delicate yet powerful.
Phoenix 7' 6" 6wt:
My version of the Paul Young Martha Marie taper. This rod is a very smooth and powerful 7 1/2 footer. It is fully capable of landing large fish in fast water. I made one of these for Fran Betters in the Adirondacks to fish in his beloved Ausable River.
Fish Hawk 8' 5 wt:
A slightly lengthened variation of the Paul Young Para 14. A smooth casting rod for a wide range of situations.
Osprey 8' 6 wt:
Based on the Paul Young Para 15, perhaps his very best parabolic taper. This rod is smooth and powerful, a joy to cast, and one of my personal favorites.
Heron 8' 7 wt:
This rod is a variation of a Payne Taper. A great streamer rod with all of the power you'll need to handle big flies on windy days. The Heron is all the rod you'll ever need for trout and salmon on big waters.
